- 1 cup butter (or light butter)
- 1 cup mayo (regular, NOT low fat or fat free)
- 2 cups shredded Jack cheese
- 4 oz. chopped mild green chiles
- 3 T. garlic powder
- Cocktail rye or pumpernickel
Leave butter out to soften. When soft, mix it with the other ingredients and spread on cocktail rye (or pumpernickel). Place bread in oven broiler or in toaster oven and toast until the topping is bubbling.
